The freshness of morning wakes me...my solitary ways have returned, like the expected first frost...
Never has solitary been so bittersweet...
The breeze cools me, I shake off a shiver...hoping I could shake off your uncertainty...
I wish I could be lost to you, but you seem to keep me here waiting in the dark...
So I sit and stare down my street, watching the occassional pair of headlights...always a pair...
This is my time, even if it is borrowed...
No love nor glory...just the morning air and the day's ciguarette.

thanks for the comment on "northern lights"! i see them in alaska not too often i guess, but i'm pretty sure no matter how often i see them they'll always fascinate and capture me.
